Flat Sheet to Finished Part<\/b><\/strong><\/h2>\n

All sheet metal parts are processed in the same manner. It is flat, then cut to shape and folded and fastened. Move to the next stage skip a stage or rush it and the stage suffers the consequences. Together all three guarantee that both the schedule and budget are more likely to be met. After cutting the metal is bent into shape to create the depth of the part. A marked line is provided in a press brake and by pushing the sheet along this line a flat blank is formed into a bracket a box or a channel. Bends need room though. Thickness is important. Laser cutting is fast and suits thin sheets. More force is required and a larger bend radius is required for thick plate. Ask for lead time in writing. Simple sheet parts can ship in a few days while complex jobs take longer. Order size finish and shipping all move the date. A good shop will measure the key sizes and give you a certificate of material or a report called a first article report if you request it. If the project is new order a small sample.
